ah, i love myspace. it makes it so easy to talk to bands! I am working on getting the aquabats back over the summer with the phenomenauts maybe. I messaged the Pnauts asking if they're doing a summer tour, and mentioned the aquabats. so we'll see. the chop tops are playing with mad sin and the koffin kats (i think) and the nekromantix are coming in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!

I also sent a message to this psychobilly band that i like and i think i got em!

"Cat: you guys should play at downtown brew in san luis obispo, ca!

Stellar Corpses: We'd love to! Do you know who to talk to? We should get another band too, from LA or something.

Cat: yes! korie@downtownbrew.com

You guys should play a show with resurex! or the horrorpops! or the phenomenauts (they're from oakland)! or the creepshow...that'd be really awesome. they'll be coming from Washington to the knitting factory in LA on august 31st and sept. 1st. so SLO is along the way. but that's not very soon. :/

do you have any bands in mind?

Stellar Corpses: Thanks! Ya, we'll try to get the Creepshow or the rezurex. Might not be until August tho :(

Cat: get both!!! that'd be amazing. just make sure the show isn't 18+ or 21+...because downtown brew has been having a lot of shows with age requirements these past few and it makes me sad. 16+ shows are okay though haha. :D

I'm very good at spreading the word about local concerts and shows so just keep things posted!

I'll bring cookies."

i love making my own concerts. and if they play with the creepshow (one of my favorite bands) I'd feel pretty fuckin' cool. the creepshow is super rad. And the singer is sexy. so is her sister.

If I here back from the aquabats and they do a show over the summer...I'd be ecstatic.

I've been thinking about collage a lot and I'm thinking college in the US insn't for me. Sure, everyone I know and love lives in this country, but college is supposed to be a new experience...why not throw in a language barrier and a big culture shock to it? It might be fun. I've been looking at the University of Denmark. I'd be introduced to new people, foods, customs, languages and oh yeah....musique! Tons of jazz, rockabilly and psychobilly shows.

"Copenhagen has been ranked as one of the world's best cities to live in, despite the high cost of living.

Strøget, a pedestrian shopping street in central Copenhagen was inaugurated in 1961. Copenhagen's extensive pedestrian network has been developed over the last 40 years through the work of architect and professor Jan Gehl.

The Copenhagen Jazz Festival is a popular annual event that is the result of a significant jazz scene having existed for many years. It developed significantly when a number of American jazz musicians such as Ben Webster, Thad Jones, Richard Boone, Ernie Wilkins, Kenny Drew, Ed Thigpen, Bob Rockwell and others such as rock guitarist Link Wray came to live in Copenhagen during the 1960s.

Sexual equality is a high priority in Denmark. Women encounter little or no discrimination in Copenhagen, sexual harassment is rare compared to other Western capital cities, and crime against women is low.

Copenhagen is known as a 24-hour party city. For free entertainment one can stroll along Strøget, especially between Nytorv and Højbro Plads, which in the late afternoon and evening is a bit like an impromptu three-ring circus with musicians, magicians, jugglers and other street performers.

Copenhagen is also home to three prominent paintball teams, the Copenhagen Ducks, The Ugly Ducklings and the Copenhagen Berserks. Because of paintball's relative popularity in Scandinavia, these teams are well-known throughout the globe, despite Denmark's small size.

Copenhagen is known as one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world.

Copenhagen offers a great variety of fine restaurants and it is possible to find modest eateries with open sandwiches (called "smørrebrød"), which is the traditional and most known dish. Most restaurants, though, serve international dishes.

Also, Copenhagen is known for the hotdog stands found throughout the city. The city is also home to many fine bakeries and pastry shops. eeeeee! j'aime des pâtisseries.

The city boasts an impressive 10 Michelin star restaurants. Restaurant Noma (Nordisk Madhus) has currently been voted the 33rd best restaurant in the world.

Lately, immigration from the Middle East, Turkey and Arabian countries has made fast food dishes like kebab and falafel as popular as more traditional Danish fast foods."

I'm going to talk to my parents about it.
The secret is working....Mr. freeman showed that video to us in class, and it's working!

Swear to Hercules!

Okay proof?

You got it, dude.

So the other day, I was researching scholarships and came accross this research paper one, and thought, "I miss doing research papers...they're really intersting and I like learning a lot about a subject."

The next day in english, we're assigned a research paper that I had NO idea about in class!

The guidelines were that we had to research an american author on the list.

I picked for my 3 choices Olaudah Equiano (just saw amazing grace...great movie), Anne Sexton (I thought her last name was sexy LOL GET IT? + She's interesting) and third Arthur Miller (a play writer).

I was thinking about it a while and realized I really didn't want to have Olaudah as my first choice, but Anne. I get my paper back with the three names (he had to verify we were the only person writing about the author, ya no?) and he highlighted ANNE SEXTON! *holy choir major chord*

I'm pretty happy right? ya happy.

Freeman starts talking about the outline and says "turn to the sample outline on the back of your paper, please. Oh, who is writing about Anne Sexton?"

I raise my hand.

"Oh...." he says, disappointedly.

I look at the sample outline and it's for Anne Sexton.

"talk to me in a bit, we'll figure something out."

Like he'd let me research an author with the outline already written for me haha.

So we got to the computer lab, and he says, "Mkay, Sweetie...lets see...Do you want to research a man or woman?"

"I don't care as long as they have an interesting story."

He smiles and gives a look like, "that's the answer I like to hear!"

"You probably want a contemporary author huh? hm...."

He names a few and says "OOH! Ken Kesey! He'd be perfect for you. He's a weird guy, you like weird!"

He's a fucking tripper and wrote One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

This will be an interesting paper....>:)

Tonight was pretty awesome. My dad and I went shopping for the family. Mostly crap stuff, so we only found a watch for my mom. I got a cute sweater and pinstripped pants and a watch though haha. MERRY CHRISTMAS, CAT! YOU GOT THE RIGHT IDEA!

..........not.

Tonight I told my dad that he can say something silly and trivial and then add "I feel like I'm in hell!" to the end of it and it becomes hilarious.

an example is "Where are the paper towels? I feel like I'm in hell."

ANOTHER?

"There's nothing I like here. I feel like I'm in hell."

ONE MORE?!?!?! OKKKKKKKKKKKKk

"I can't unhook the watch. I feel like I'm in hell."

Great huh?

My dad and I cant stop laughing reminiscing about stella.

I love it.

I am a huge fan of run on sentences btw. `;P

    <lj:music>The slackers</lj:music>

I love inspiring nights.

My dad bought tickets to this Celtic musique show at the community center. I wasn't very enthused about going, because I'm a little sick and have a bit of a fat lip...but he payed for my ticket already and I didn't wanna be a douchebag and say "euhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :(" So I went.

Molly's Revenge was amazing. They had three beautiful riverdancers, and they're outfits were really cool looking. I liked their clacky shoes. they didnt click. they CLACKED!

I was really moved by the woodwind player, David Brewer (nice Irish last name ;) ). He played several Irish flutes and tin whistles and two different bagpipes, one was Irish and the other Scottish. He was amazingly good and very entertaining to watch. I might start playing bagpipes now, my mom is all happy about that. heh. Daniel will hate me for it though. oh well.................

The fiddler was amazing as well. you can hear them play here

Everything about tonight was awesome. I felt very content. So I tried piercing my naval. I got all the way through and could see the point of the needle on the inside of my naval, but it just wouldnt go any farther. So I spent about 2 hours trying to get it all the way through. No luck. I shot a video of some of it. here

It kind of hurts now, but I feel really good. maybe i'll pierce it again and succeed sometime.
